Creating a visually compelling design that drives conversion.

Ouders van Nu is a trusted platform in for parents, offering expert advice, community support and resources from pregnancy to early school years. Over the past year, I designed several A/B tests for them and recently created a landing page to encourage visitors to create a profile on their platform. The profile offers benefits like access to exclusive content and a supportive community.

Boosting Conversion Within Design Constraints

My goal was to design a page that clearly communicates the benefits of having a profile in an attractive and easy-to-understand way, making it simple for users to take action.

The Challenge
The biggest challenge? I couldn’t create new design elements. Instead, I had to design the page using only the existing blocks and features from their website’s content management system (CMS).

How to Convince Visitors to Register

The main question was: How do we make people want to register without overwhelming them?

To solve this, I focused on creating a design that:

  • Has scannable titles and icons.
  • Clearly explains the benefits of registering.
  • Makes the process look simple and user-friendly.

What I did

  1. Improved the Content
    • Rewrote and reorganized the copy to make the benefits easy to understand and more appealing.
    • Added icons to highlight key points, making the information quicker to read.
    • Used clear and bold Call-to-Action (CTA) buttons, such as “Register Now.”
    • Included a simple 3-step process for registration to show how easy it is.
  2. Worked Within the Design Limits
    • I reviewed the website to identify all the available design blocks and components.
    • Used their existing style, brand colors, fonts and lots of white space for a clean and calming look.
    • Enhanced the page with a few simple custom icons to make the information more visual and easier to scan.

The Final Result

The new landing page is:

  • Clear and Focused: Benefits are presented in a way that’s quick and easy to understand, supported by visuals like icons and bullet points.
  • Conversion-Friendly: Buttons with clear, action-oriented messages encourage users to sign up right away.
  • Easy to Follow: The 3-step guide removes barriers and shows how simple it is to register.

This project is a nice example of working creatively within tight constraints. By optimizing what was already available, I delivered a professional and effective page that’s easy for users to engage with—and makes signing up an easy choice.
